Review highlights
Based on 472 reviewsHabitat - Terra e Fogo in Porto is widely appreciated for its expertly crafted paellas and diverse menu offerings, including standout seafood and vegetable dishes. Guests commonly praise the quality and flavor of the main courses, with particular emphasis on the meticulous preparation and generous portions. The restaurant’s atmosphere strikes a balance between lively and intimate, making it a favored spot for date nights and relaxed dining alike. Friendly service and a well-curated music selection further enhance the overall experience. Minor feedback occasionally points to slower service during busy times and a few less favored dishes, but these do not detract significantly from the consistently positive impressions visitors share.
The Ribeye paella was absolutely incredible, and we were pleasantly surprised by how perfectly the zucchini cannellini was made.
Great place for date night. We had some nice veggie appetizers and shared a seafood paella.
Loved the place and the food. The only dish I didn’t love was the carpaccio picanha. The service is really friendly, and the music was just the right volume. Recommended !
I was pleasantly surprised in Habitat. It’s been a while since I’ve gone to a new restaurant and left with a feeling that I definitely want to come back, soon.Service took some time, but both the entrées and main dishes were spectacular. The paellas are the house dish and come in different interesting variations. We went for the entrecôte and sea bass, and both were top notch.Desserts are important for me, and although they were good, we didn’t think they were on the same high level as the other dishes. I’m keeping the 5 star rating hoping they will be improved! :)
Went to Habitat on a quiet Thursday night and it was just the right amount of people. Enough that it didn’t overwhelm the kitchen and made it easy to get the food out in the right amount of time in between dishes but also enough people that there was a lively atmosphere inside and didn’t feel like I was eating alone. The food was very tasty, portions were sizable and it was obvious there was a care factor involved judging by the cleanliness of the plates and how the dishes were presented. The staff was very caring and nice, they knew how to keep the distance and were not invasive at all, just the right amount. They were knowledgeable about the wine and all of their recommendations of it were spot on.I took the rump steak carpaccio first, it was very tasty but I must admit I made a mistake ordering it, it’s just not the part of meat I like my carpaccio from, it’s too “meaty” and tends to be on the thicker side, if that makes any sense. The beef Wellington was exquisite, just cooked to perfection and the whole dish was in perfect balance with the olives and the pastry around it, it was just perfect. Definitely one of the better Beef Wellington’s I’ve ever had. The Basque cheesecake was also very tasty, light and soft and just done right, very San Sebastián worthy. Paired with a 20 yo Graham’s port wine that I thought was a great match, suggested by the maître d'.All in all a very nice spot by the sea that I’d like to visit again when I come back to Porto
I'd give 4,5 stars if I could. We really enjoyed the starters (cannelloni, cauliflower, focaccia ratatouille, asian salmon, mashed potatoes with truffle), the wines, and especially the desserts (we tasted the cheesecake, tarte tatin, tiramisu and the brownie). The cheesecake was the highlight of the dinner. However, the paella was quite disappointing given the price and the high expectations since they have a dedicated section for paellas in the menu. We'll definitely be back but I don't see myself ordering the paella again.
Great atmosphere with fresh and delicious food. Excellent service from my waiter Juan. He recommended a great local wine and delicious cheesecake for dessert. The zucchini cannelloni was really creative.
Delightful place! Probably the highlight of my trip to Porto. Pleasant and attentive waiter.I forgot to take pictures of the pear tart and the tiramisu. I was so absorbed with the food. The white sangria is very strong and very good.My experience with restaurants in Porto has been good, but this place is just plain delightful. Recommended.
